Apartments Los Cristianos, Close To Playa De Las Americas

By Lorenzo Jacabo

The Island of Tenerife is the largest in the Canary Island Chain, as such it is a popular holiday spot and apartments in Los Cristianos offer the visitor a more laid-back holiday. It is situated close to Playa de las Americas, a vibrant, lively, large resort, but far enough away to offer the vacationer a more peaceful experience.

Los Cristianos is situated in the south-west of Tenerife and many holiday makers have enjoyed this quiet resort, which grew from a small fishing village. Holidaying at this spot started becoming popular about 40 years ago and although it is no longer the same sleepy fishing village, it has kept some of its charm.

This resort is situated in a sheltered bay and still has a working harbor. The harbor is surrounded by shops, hotels and apartments and is fronted by a square. The promenade stretches all the way across and reaches as far as Playa de las Americas.

The old town makes up part of the harbor area and many locals still live here, it is a pedestrian only area. One of the best beaches on the entire island of Tenerife is the beach in Playa de las Americas, it is a man made beach constructed with sand from the Sahara dessert. A visit to Playa de las Vistas makes for a fantastic day out and it is only a brief taxi ride from Los Cristianos.

Tenerife offers the joys of low duty and duty free shopping where visitors are able to quite literally shop till they drop in the many stores. Cultured pearls and handicrafts are a favorite for souvenir hunters, but liberal spending on tobacco, perfumes, cameras, designer clothing and electrical goods goes on too.

British brand goods are in plentiful supply and you will find these in most of the shops at the San Eugene center. The Sunday street market is great fun and holiday-makers enjoy haggling with local vendors for cheaper prices.

Virtually every taste in cuisine is catered for at the many restaurants, pubs, and bistros in Los Cristianos. They also offer some entertainment of an evening, but for the more exciting night life, a visit to Playa de las Americas, or the Capital, Palma is required.

Learn Breakout Fading? (Part I)

By Ahmad Hassam

Suppose you believe that the currency prices will not be able to follow through action in the direction of the breakout. Fading breakouts refers to trading against breakouts. When we believe that breakouts from support and resistance levels to be false and unsustainable we fade breakouts.

False breakouts are a bane for breakout traders but boon for breakout faders. False breakouts are also known as fakeouts. Fading breakouts tends to be more effective as a short term strategy. Fading breakout is not meant to be a long term strategy.

Support level attracts the buyers enthusiasm for higher bids. It prevents the price from falling further. The resistance level attracts the sellers enthusiasm for shorting and it prevents the price action from advancing higher. Support and resistance are seen as the price floor and the price ceiling respectively.

It is perfectly logical for the crowd to think that if the support level is penetrated, then the price action should move downward. The crowd is more likely to sell than to buy when the price action breaks the support level from above. The idea of trading breakouts appeals to many independent traders especially those new to currency trading. The crowd likes to trade the breakout.

The crowd is more likely to buy than to sell when the price action breaks the resistance level from below. The opposite is true of a price break above the resistance level. The crowd usually concludes that if the resistance is broken, then the prices are more likely to advance higher in the rally.

You will find clusters of stop loss orders placed around both the support and resistance levels. These stop loss orders are placed by traders who have brought near the support level or have sold near the resistance level. Now you can also understand why there tends to be large number of entry stop orders placed just above a resistance level and also placed just below a support level.

So when the price action breaks out above the resistance level, short positions will be stopped out. Similarly, long positions will be stopped out when the currency prices crosses below the support level.

Why most breakouts fade? One of the most important reasons why most breakouts fail is due to the fact that winners need to take the money from the losers. It does not always pay to have the same mentality as the crowd. The majority will cash out of the trading game broke.

Money has to be made from the majority. Not from the minority who got it right. The crowd holds the dumb money with the weak hands. Smart money belongs to the big players who have a couple of tricks to sabotage the crowd.

When the crowd scrambles to get out of their losing positions, it causes vertical rallies or declines. The most money is made when the crowd turns out to be wrong. Read Part II for more.

The Cultural Implications of Sports and How They May Affect Future Generations

By Chuck R Stewart

Sports are a significant part of human life and always have been. Sports can teach us a lot about the cultures they exist in. Children can learn a lot from sports, and sports medals and custom ribbons can boost a child's self confidence immensely.

The ancient Greeks were not the first people to appreciate sport, but we remember them most. It was they who so admired the human form that they formed the same Olympics that are still around 2000 years later. The brutal blood sports the Romans indulged in reflect the values of a culture steeped in violence and born of conquest. Some Native American tribes valued competitions testing the speed and accuracy with which they could use their weapons, and much of their culture involved these skills.

In our culture today we see the commercialization of sports in all levels. What has been a pastime in other cultures has become profession in ours. Better pay and winning are peoples only concern. What will people 1000 years from now think when they look back at our sports and the way we play them? Perhaps they will see the ferocious fans getting into fights with each other in the stands and even with players on the court or field. Perhaps they will see human beings sold like hunks of meat to run into one another and catch a ball for outrageous sums of money to giant sports franchises. What will they think of steroids?

Since winning is the only thing that matters in todays sports, the poor conduct of so many of the people involved in sports is not surprising. Sports should teach children the value of competition and how to endeavor towards excellence. They should try to be the best they can be, competing against themselves instead of others. This would shift the focus from dominating others to improving oneself.

Research has found many benefits to sports. From inclusion and the elimination of racism to increasing graduation rates, sports can be a positive influence of children. Research has shown that high school students involved in sports earned higher grades, got into trouble less often, were less likely to drop out, had higher GPAs, and were more likely to graduate than students who did not participate in sports. People must retain positive attitudes though. Focus on winning and domination of the competition can make kids feel unwanted, unworthy, and unacceptable, one expert argues. We should not be teaching kids that they are failures, but teach them to handle failure, not to accept it, and to continue always to better themselves. If we continue the way we are going in sport, everyone will feel either like a loser of a winner. Children should learn to compete only against themselves, in order that we can have generations of encouraging children who are always seeking to better themselves.

Portrait Photography Basic Principles

By Matthew Tan

A portrait, also known as a portraiture, is a photo centering on a person or small groups facial expression while they are in a still position. This is to display the personality, mood and the likeness of the person or group. Portrait photography does not always have to have just the face in the picture, the whole body and background can be included as well. When taking a portrait photo the person or group is generally looking strait at the camera.

Non-professional models are used for portrait photography, unlike other styles of photography. Graduations, special events and weddings are types of occasions where portrait photography is used, and later displayed in private homes. Many are done on studio with several backgrounds to choose from.

History of Portrait Photography

People have been using portrait photography ever since the camera was invented. Having your portrait painted was expensive and not as available. Natural light was used from an open window and people would sit against the background. With technology evolving photographers have the ability to take pictures with less exposure time giving them more freedom to move around and create new styles of portrait photography.

Styles

Portrait photographs can be done in a studio where the photographer can adjust the light when capturing portraits. They can change the direction and the intensity. Kicker lights, fill lights, background lights and the main lights are a few of the different lighting terms.

The main light is the primary light source. It is usually at a 45 degree angle of the subject but it can also be positioned above or below as well. The main light can create shadows so the fill light helps to eliminate them. The light that brightens up the hair of the subject is the kicker light. This will help to add depth and to show the separation from the subject and the background. A Background light brightens the background and can add effects to the backdrops.
