I am so sick of these lists, congressional investigations, and these "cheating" baseball players!! Now the hall of 'roids has two new members, David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez (AGAIN! He just served a 50 game suspension for taking a female fertility drug).
Don't get me wrong I love David Ortiz. He has been not only the biggest clutch hitter in Red Sox history (Game 4 and 5 of the 2004 ALCS filed in every Sox fan's memory), but a pretty stand up guy. Now him too!? You know what I really don't care if he used it! Almost every power hitter since the late 80's has.
At this point it just seems commonplace. Think of the biggest names in baseball over the past 10 years. Barry Bonds. Manny Ramirez. Mark McGwire. Rafael Palmeiro. A-Rod. Canseco. It never ends. Bottom line is that if you hit a lot of HRs (unless your name is Ken Griffey Jr.), you probably used steroids or some kind of substance that improved your power hitting.
When the rest of these guys were filling up stat sheets in the late 90s due to their steroid use, David Ortiz was struggling in Minnesota and his career was on the ropes.
Who can blame a guy whose career was about to fizzle out? Damn I just got laid off and am doing everything in my power to mentally enhance myself to get another job! Let's just hope he does the right thing and comes clean. It would be a shame for the nicest guy on the Sox to get a black eye from this steroid circus.
Then there's this whole list that they're holding back on us as if we're dogs looking for a treat. The players already "busted" for their steroid use have to hang their heads in shame while the rest of the baseball cheating world is protected by this list.
Every sports fan is as sick of this story as Brett Favre coming in and out of retirement 4-5 times!! Enough already. This is like Hollywood remaking old movies because no one can come up with an original idea on their own.
I, for one, and thankful for the fact that football preseason has us looking forward to another sport. The drama about who used HGH or steroids will soon be replaced with the pure weekend football drama that everyone loves.
